About the Movie

The Abyss, an Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects, is an action-packed sci-fi film that begins when a nuclear submarine sinks and a team of divers conduct a rescue mission. Led by Bud Brigman (Ed Harris), the team includes his estranged engineer wife (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and a paranoid Navy lieutenant (Michael Biehn). It's not long before the team is challenged by a previously unknown, intelligent underwater life form.
